November 29, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Kalamazoo Wings News Release

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings roster will have a different feel to it tonight heading into their 7:30 p.m. face-off versus the Fort Wayne Komets.

The K-Wings have added forward Chris Lawrence from the reserve and Elgin Reid from the 21-day injured reserve.

Kalamazoo has also signed free-agent forward Matt Firman. Firman started the season with Fort Wayne. Entering his second season as a professional, Firman played his rookie season with the Komets, where he recorded 30 points (14 goals, 16 assists) to lead all Fort Wayne first-year players and received the team's Rookie of the Year award. Firman's first pro goal was recorded at Wings Stadium on November 10, 2012 as a member of the Komets.

Before turning pro, Firman played his collegiate hockey at Colgate University. During his senior season with the Raiders, Firman notched 15 points (7 goals, 8 assists) to earn the team's Most Improved Player Award and the Steve Riggs Memorial Award, which is given to the Colgate player most known for gentlemanly play and high standard of ability.

Not all the roster moves for Kalamazoo were additions. Forward Ray Kaunisto has been loaned to the AHL's Syracuse Crunch.

By heading to Syracuse, Kaunisto becomes the fifth member of the K-Wings this season to be either reassigned or loaned to an AHL club.

In a separate transaction, the K-Wings have traded forward John Armstrong to the Las Vegas Wranglers for future considerations.
