Nailers Receive Duffy from Hamilton

WHEELING, WV- The Wheeling Nailers, proud ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens, have announced a transaction, which takes effect immediately. Wheeling has received forward Ben Duffy from the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Duffy, 21, has appeared in 13 games during his rookie campaign with the Bulldogs, dishing out one assist in back-to-back games against Rockford and Rochester. Prior to turning pro, Ben spent five seasons with the QMJHL's PEI Rocket, finishing his career at the top of the circuit, as he beat out Jonathan Drouin by five points for the scoring title, with 39 goals, 71 assists, and 110 points. Overall, the Lower Sackville, NS native appeared in 334 games with the Rocket, racking up 139 goals, 202 assists, and 341 points, while spending just 18 minutes in the penalty box.

Ben Duffy will be in the lineup for the Nailers, wearing #18, as they conclude their five-game road trip in Elmira against the Jackals. Wheeling's next home game takes place on Saturday night against the Toledo Walleye at 7:00.
