Pierre-Cedric Labrie Acquired From Vancouver

ST. LOUIS (March 3, 2010) - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has acquired forward Pierre-Cedric Labrie from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for Yan Stastny. Labrie will report to the Blues' AHL affiliate Peoria Rivermen.

Labrie, 23, has played in 45 games this season with the American Hockey League's (AHL) Manitoba Moose, recording six points including five goals and one assist to go along with 69 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 212-pound left wing has played in three consecutive seasons with the Moose since 2007-08.

After 175 career AHL games, all with Manitoba, Labrie has accumulated 39 points (18g & 21a) along with 256 penalty minutes. He has appeared in 17 playoff games with Manitoba where he collected one assist in last year's Calder Cup playoff run. The Baie-Comeau, PQ native was signed by Vancouver as a free agent in 2007.

Stastny, 27, was the Rivermen captain this season and collected 27 points (10 goals, 17 assists) along with 51 penalty minutes in 49 games. He also played four games with the Blues and scored a goal. In parts of four seasons with the Rivermen, Stastny appeared in 161 games and finished with 97 points (46 goals, 51 assists).
