Columbus Assigns Defenseman Grant Clitsome And Recalls Right Wing Mike Blunden

Syracuse, NY (March 3, 2010) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned defenseman Grant Clitsome to the Crunch and recalled right wing Mike Blunden.

Clitsome, 24, has appeared in 55 games with the Crunch this season, collecting four goals, 14 assists and 40 penalty minutes. He made his NHL debut with Columbus on March 2, 2010 vs. Vancouver and registered two assists. A native of Gloucester, Ontario, Clitsome was selected by Columbus in the ninth round, 271st overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

Blunden, 23, has appeared in 25 games with the Crunch this season, tallying seven goals, 10 assists and 43 penalty minutes. He has also skated in 22 games with Columbus this year, collecting 29 penalty minutes. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Blunden was acquired by Columbus from Chicago in exchange for Adam Pineault on January 10, 2009. He was originally selected by Chicago in the second round, 43rd overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
