Osala Dealt To Carolina Hurricanes

HERSHEY - The 2009 Calder Cup Champion HERSHEY BEARS announced today in conjunction with the Washington Capitals that left wing Oskar Osala has been traded with defenseman Brian Pothier and a second round draft pick to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for defenseman Joe Corvo. The announcement was made today by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.

Osala, 22, scored 15 goals in 53 games for HERSHEY this season, and also saw two NHL games with Washington in 2008-09. A native of Vaasa, Finland, Osala was drafted in the fourth round, 97th overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

The BEARS return home Saturday night to face the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at 7:00 p.m. A very limited number of tickets remain for the game, call the Giant Center box office at (717) 534-3911 for the latest ticket information.
