Canucks Trade Pierre-Cedric Labrie To St. Louis For Yan Stastny

The Vancouver Canucks today announced they have traded left-winger Pierre-Cedric Labrie to St. Louis for centre Yan Stastny.

Stastny, 27, has played in 49 games with the Peoria Rivermen this season. In that span, he collected 27 points (10g & 17a) along with 51 penalty minutes. He also played in four games with the St. Louis Blues where he scored a goal. The Quebec City, PQ native has played in 223 career AHL games between Iowa, Providence and Peoria where he has racked up 141 points (63g & 78a) and 230 penalty minutes. The centre-man has also played in 12 career AHL playoff games for nine points (2g & 7a). He has also appeared in 91 career NHL games with Edmonton, Boston and St. Louis. In his NHL career, Stastny has earned 16 points (6g & 10a) along with 58 penalty minutes.

Labrie, 23, has played in 45 games with the Manitoba Moose this season. In that span, he collected six points (5g & 1a) along with 69 penalty minutes. The Baie-Comeau, PQ native has played in three consecutive seasons with the Moose since 2007-08. After 175 career AHL games, all with Manitoba, Labrie has accumulated 39 points (18g & 21a) along with 256 penalty minutes. The left-winger has appeared in 17 playoff games with Manitoba where he collected one assist in last year's Calder Cup playoff run.
