
Peverley Selected to AHL All-Star Classic

Milwaukee, WI-The American Hockey League announced today that Milwaukee Admirals Center Rich Peverley has been selected to play in the 2008 AHL All Star Classic presented by Reebok at the Broome County Veteran's Memorial Arena in Binghamton, NY on January 27th and 28th.
Peverley is tops on the Admirals roster in scoring, registering eight goals and 25 assists for 33 points, in 33 contests. He also has a team-leading 12 points on the power-play and four game-winning tallies. The Guelph, ON native has posted nine-multi point games and his four assists on December 31st against Rockford stands as Milwaukee season high, as does the six-game scoring streak he put together from October 6th through the 21st.
The St. Lawrence University alum has also played in five games with the Nashville Predators this season, averaging 5:44 of ice time per game. Peverley notched an assist and was +2 in his first NHL game against the Anaheim Ducks March 4th, 2007. In total, he has skated in 18 career NHL games, recording one point, nine shots and a -1 rating.
A four-year pro, Peverley led the Admirals in scoring last season with 68 points (30g-28a) in 66 games and also finished the season +9. During his rookie year of 2005-06 he recorded 12 goals and dished our 34 assists for 46 points in 65 games. He also contributed a pair of goals and nine assists in the post-season as the Admirals made a run to the Calder Cup Finals.
Of the 427 players to take part in the AHL All-Star Classic since 1995, more than 93 percent have competed in the National Hockey League, including Patrice Bergeron, Brad Boyes, Daniel Briere, Zdeno Chara, Jonathan Cheechoo, Pavol Demitra, Rick DiPietro, Patrik Elias, Ray Emery, Jiri Hudler, Miikka Kiprusoff, Kari Lehtonen, Ryan Miller, Martin St. Louis, Jason Spezza, Eric Staal and Steve Sullivan.
The 2008 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Reebok will feature the top young talent in the American Hockey League competing in the 2008 CCM AHL All-Star Skills Competition on Sunday, January 27 (6:00 CT), and the 2008 AHL All-Star Game on Monday, January 28 (6:00 CT). The event will be televised nationally in the United States and Canada.
Peverley and the Admirals are back on the ice Thursday night when they take on the Toronto Marlies at 7:00 pm at the Bradley Center.
