Wolf Pack's Nigel Dawes Headed to AHL All-Star Classic

HARTFORD, January 9, 2008: The American Hockey League today named Hartford Wolf Pack left-wing Nigel Dawes to the Canadian team for the 2008 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Reebok, which takes place January 27-28 at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton, NY.

Despite having played in only 20 of the Wolf Pack's 37 games, Dawes is tied for second on the club in points, goals and assists, with 14-20-34. The third-year pro set a Wolf Pack regular-season franchise record with six points (2-4-6) in a 7-1 win at Worcester December 8th, and has 8-10-18 in his last 10 games. The 2003 New York Ranger fifth-round pick (149th overall) is currently on recall to the Rangers, and has also skated in 22 games with the Rangers this season, contributing five goals and one assist for six points.

In 166 career AHL games with the Wolf Pack, Dawes has netted 76 goals and added 85 assists for 161 points. The Western Hockey League product has suited up for 30 career NHL contests and posted numbers of six goals and one assist for seven points.

The Wolf Pack are back in action this Friday night, January 11th, starting a three-game road trip with a contest in Norfolk vs. the Admirals (7:15 PM faceoff). The Pack and Norfolk battle again Saturday evening (7:15), before the Wolf Pack move on to Hershey for a 5:00 date with the Bears on Sunday. The Pack's next home game at the XL Center is next Wednesday night, January 16th, vs. the Worcester Sharks (7:00).
