MacIntyre named to Canadian AHL All-Star team for 2008 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic

The Manitoba Moose, in conjunction with the American Hockey League, are pleased to announce Drew MacIntyre has been named to the Canadian All-Star Team for the 2008 AHL All-Star Classic presented by Reebok to be held at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton, NY from January 27th-28th, 2008.

MacIntyre, 24, has appeared in 22 games with the Moose this season, posting a record of 14-7-1 with a goals against average of 2.25 and a save percentage of .924. The Charlottetown, P.E.I. native is currently tied for fifth among all AHL goaltenders in wins (14) and holds the fourth-best save percentage in the league. In a season and a half with the Moose, MacIntyre has played in 63 games with a record of 38-19-3 and a goals against average of 2.20 and a save percentage of .923. He made his NHL debut with the Vancouver Canucks Dec. 13/07 at San Jose, stopping nine of 11 shots in 27 minutes of work.

This will be the first AHL All-Star game for MacIntyre in four AHL seasons. He has appeared in 100 AHL games in his career, posting a 53-31-3 record, 2.39 goals against average, and .916 save percentage. MacIntyre was originally selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the fourth round, 121st overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
