
Penguins, Nailers swap players

Wilkes-Barre - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have returned center Sean Collins to the Wheeling Nailers on loan, it was announced today by team CEO Jeff Barrett.
Collins, 22, recorded one assist and was minus-3 in eight games with the Penguins. He was recalled by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton from Wheeling on January 26.
Collins leads the Nailers and is tied for 13th in the ECHL with 50 points (16+34) in 39 games this season. He is also third among ECHL rookies in points, and tied for second among first-year players with 34 assists. He was named a starter in the ECHL All-Star Game.
A native of Reading, MA, Collins led the University of New Hampshire with 56 points (19-37) in 42 games last season, helping the Wildcats to a 26-11-5 record and a spot in the NCAA Northeast Regional Final. He finished fifth overall in scoring among Division I skaters and was tied for second in assists. His 28 points (11-17) in Hockey East action placed him tied fifth in the conference.
A 5-9, 170 pound forward, Collins finished in the top four on the school's scoring list during each of his four seasons with New Hampshire, and finished his collegiate career with 173 points (77-96) in 164 games. His 77 career goals place him tied for 10th on the Wildcats' all-time list, while his 173 points put him in a tie for 12th with current Pittsburgh Penguins center Eric Boguniecki.
