Albany River Rats News Release

Albany N.Y. - The Albany River Rats announced today that defenseman Krisjanis Redlihs has been added to Latvia's roster for the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy. The club also announced that New Jersey Devils have reassigned left wing Jason Ryznar to Albany.

Redlihs, 25, leads all River Rat defenders with a career-high 20 (3-17) points in 49 games during the 2005-06 campaign. He previously represented Latvia during the 2004 and 2002 (Pool D) World Championships, recording one assist in 12 games played over the two tournaments. Redlihs skated in his 200th American Hockey League match-up on December 10th and was originally drafted by the Devils with their seventh choice (154th overall) in the 2002 National Hockey League Entry Draft.

Latvia's first game is scheduled for Wednesday night vs. Team USA with subsequent preliminary round games on Thursday against Slovakia, Saturday versus Sweden, Sunday against Russia and next Tuesday against Kazakhstan.

Ryznar, 22, went scoreless in three games with the Devils and made his NHL debut on January 24, 2006 against the New York Islanders. The Anchorage, Alaska native was drafted by New Jersey with their third choice (64th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft and posted 18 (4-14) points in 42 games with Albany earlier this season.

The Albany River Rats, owned and operated by Capital District Sports Inc., are in their 13th American Hockey League campaign and serve as the primary affiliate of the National Hockey League's New Jersey Devils.
