Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that forward Denver Manderson has been returned on loan to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL). In a separate transaction, defenseman Barry Goers has been released from his professional tryout agreement (PTO) and will return to the Nailers.
Manderson, 24, has skated in 25 games this season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, netting his first AHL goal on Jan. 29 and also recording six assists and four penalty minutes. After appearing in one game for Wheeling last year due to injury, Manderson began 2013-14 with nine points (2g-7a) and four PIM in 12 contests with the Nailers.
In eight games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Goers has collected one goal, four assists and two penalty minutes. A 27-year old, fourth-year pro from Ivyland, Pa., Goers has also posted seven points (2g-5a) and 6 PIM for Wheeling over 16 games.
The Penguins return to action on Saturday night when they host the Adirondack Phantoms at 7:05pm. The first 5,000 fans will receive an Alain Nasreddine Hall of Fame statue, courtesy of Eyewitness News.
