IceCaps Sell out 100th Consecutive Game
February 8, 2014 - American Hockey League (AHL)
St. John's IceCaps News Release
The St. John's IceCaps will mark 100 consecutive regular-season sell-outs tonight, Saturday (February 8th) versus the Worcester Sharks at Mile One Centre.
The IceCaps, who entered the American Hockey League in 2011-12, have sold out every home game in its existence and are on pace to set the AHL's all-time consecutive sell-out record of 144 in the second half of next season (2014-15).
"At this time we would like to salute the amazing hockey fans of Newfoundland and Labrador from season-ticket holders, to corporate partners to the average fan on the street - you have helped make the IceCaps the historically-successful franchise it has become," said IceCaps President and CEO Danny Williams.
"It is fitting that we reach this significant plateau as all eyes of the hockey world are about to be upon us as we prepare to host dignitaries from across the league during the AHL All-Star Classic. With the support of our amazing fans I have every confidence we will break the sell-out record and continue to add to it for years to come."
