Lightning Reassign Defenseman J.P. Cote to Syracuse

TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned defenseman J.P. Cote to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced today.

Cote, 31, has played in 19 games with the Lightning this season, collecting four assists and 22 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 216-pound defenseman made his Lightning debut and recorded his first career NHL point (assist) on December 19 versus Nashville. Prior to being recalled by the Lightning on December 18, Cote played in 19 games with Syracuse, registering two goals, nine points and 35 penalty minutes.

The Charlesbourg, Quebec native signed a two-year contract with the Lightning on December 18, 2013.
