Flames Assign Joni Ortio and Chris Breen to Abbotsford Heat

Calgary, AB -- The Calgary Flames announced today that they have assigned goaltender Joni Ortio and defenceman Chris Breen to the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League.

Ortio, a native of Turku, Finland, has played 25 games with the Abbotsford Heat this season. He is top five in the AHL in all goaltending categories with a 19-5 record (2nd) for a .792% winning percentage along with a .930% save percentage (3rd) and a 2.08 GAA (4th). He did not see game action with Calgary during this recall.

Breen has played 20 games with Abbotsford this season recording 3 assists, 11 penalty minutes and is a plus 4. He has also played 6 games with Calgary this year, including his first NHL game. The native of Uxbridge, ON was signed by the Flames as a free agent on July 17, 2013.
