Orlando, FL - Goaltender Patrick Killeen turned aside 43 shots, including 17 in the third period period, to lead the Solar Bears to a 4-0 blanking over the Greenville Road Warriors at the Amway Center on Wednesday night.
The Solar Bears took an early lead less than two minutes into the first period. D Derick Martin fired a slap shot from the blue line and F Rob Mignardi picked up the rebound and snuck a shot into the net to give Orlando a 1-0 lead. Mignardi scored his second goal of the night at 5:54 in the frame. RW Justin Levac's pass was deflected off the boards and in front of the net allowing Mignardi to slap it home. The Solar Bears held on to their 2-0 lead for the remainder of period.
F Ryan Berad widened Orlando's lead to 3-0 with a shorthanded goal in the second period. Martin pushed the puck up to Berard coming out of the penalty box, who slipped it passed Greenville G Scott Stajcer with 3:59 remaining in the second period. With under three minutes to go in second frame F Derrick Burnett circled around the cage and made a centering pass to Wilson who then fired the puck home with 1:26 to go in the second stanza. The Solar Bears would close out the second period with a 4-0 lead.
With a scoreless third period the Orlando Solar Bears ended the contest with the 4-0 victory over the Road Warriors.
