Trenton Titans News Release

ELMIRA, NY - Elmira attacked Trenton early and often on its home ice, posting a five-spot in the first on the Titans en route to an 7-1 win Wednesday night before 2,203 fans at First Arena.

It was the third straight offensive explosion in the Empire State between these two teams. Trenton won, 8-5, on January 18, while Elmira took an 8-1 decision nine days later.

Jesse Todd (4) provided the only offense for the Titans (27-31-4-462 points), redirecting a pass from Blake Kessel at 17:11 of the third. The goal spoiled a shot at the first shutout of the season for Ian Keserich (29 saves, 6-2-0-1).

Despite outshooting the Jackals (36-23-3-479) by a 13-8 mark in the first, it was Elmira that ripped the back of the net five times. Brooks Ostergard (3 saves, 3-1) took the loss, getting pulled from the game after allowing four goals in the first 17 minutes. It was his first loss in four starts with the Titans.

Cal Heeter replaced him and was quickly greeted with Rob Bellamy's 18th goal of the year with 32 seconds left in the period. Heeter would stop 22 on the night for Trenton.

For Elmira, five players would register a plus/minus rating, with all being +5 or greater. Jordan Pietrus (4 points) notched what was reported as Elmira's first hat trick of the year, after the seventh and final Elmira goal was scored late in the second. Bellamy added two goals and three assists.

Trenton, proud ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, now takes its Travelling Stick Show back home for the final two home games of the season at the Sun National Bank Center. Wheeling will be in town Friday the 22nd and Saturday the 23rd (Fan Appreciation Night), both at 7:05 pm. The Titans then immediately head back to Elmira to battle the Jackals on Sunday the 24th (4:05 pm). All the action can be heard on 107.7 FM (Trenton area) and online at either 1077theBronc.com (audio only) or AmericaOne.com (PPV). "The Bronc" Daryle Dobos, will once again call all the action.
