Trenton Titans News Release

ELMIRA, NY - The Trenton Titans, proud ECHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, fell in their season finale with Atlantic Division foe Elmira, 4-1, before a crowd of 3,746 at First Arena.

The loss ended the Titans (31-32-4-470 points) four game win streak, as they head for their final game of the season in Wheeling, WV, tomorrow.

Elmira (39-25-3-485) jumped on top midway into the first, then added a power play goal early in the second for a 2-0 lead.

Despite spending more time in its defensive zone than it would have liked, Trenton stayed in the game and didn't allow many quality chances on Scott Wedgewood (L, 47 saves, 20-22-3-2).

However two of those quality chances found the back of the net in the third, as a worm-burner from Rob Bellamy (20) and a 2-on-1 conversion by Andrew Rowe (28) put the game out of reach.

Jacob Cepis (24) ended the shutout bid of Maxime Clermont (W, 28 saves, 20-13-3-2) with 4:28 left to play. In doing so he extended his point streak to five games, while an assist by Shane Harper extended his to six games.

Even though he took the loss, Wedgewood set several marks on the night. Personally, the rookie draft pick of the New Jersey Devils had a career high in shots (51) and saves (47). He also set Trenton organization Season records for shots (1,476), saves (1,329) and minutes played (2,741), while tying the record for appearances with 48.

Trenton plays its final game of the year at Wheeling on Saturday at 7:05 pm. Game reports can be followed on Twitter (@TTitansPBP) and heard live at 107.7 FM (Trenton area), or online at 1077theBronc.com and at AmericaOne.com. The Voice of the Titans, "The Bronc" Daryle Dobos, will once again call all the action.
