Greenville, SC: The Road Warriors were beaten by the South Carolina Stingrays for the second consecutive night by a 3-1 score.
The Road Warriors controlled the early stages of the first period with many chances and scoring opportunities. Jason Wilson took a penalty towards the end of the first which halted Greenville's momentum. The forward was issued a match penalty and a five minute major for elbowing. With 51 seconds left Eric Alexander scored his first professional goal on a rebound with the man advantage.
Halfway through the second, Andrew Cherniwchan beat Scott Stajcer low glove on a partial break to put South Carolina up by a 2-0 score. Just five minutes later, Sean Berkstresser was the only Road Warrior to solve Ryan Zapolski by jamming in a loose puck for his 14th of the year. This goal put Greenville down by a 2-1 score entering the third period.
Justin Courtnall finished the scoring at the 9:06 mark in the third with five-hole goal past Stajcer. The Road Warriors pulled the goaltender to attempt to break the 3-1 score but were unsuccessful. Ryan Zapolski saved 32 shots for his 27th win. Stajcer took the loss with 28 saves.
