Bakersfield Condors News Release
LAS VEGAS - The Bakersfield Condors (21-42-2-3, 47pts) tied the game up early in the third period, but F Chris Francis and the Las Vegas Wranglers (33-29-2-3, 71pts) found the eventual game-winner minutes later and won 2-1 on Tuesday night at Orleans Arena.
Las Vegas got on the board first as D Marc Cantin's shot from the left point was deflected in front by F Adam Hughesman for a 1-0 lead at 2:25 of the opening period. The Condors received two power plays in the first period, but could not convert up a man. Bakersfield outshot Las Vegas 11-10, but found themselves down by a goal entering the intermission.
Neither team was able to find any offense in the second period as it went scoreless. The Wranglers were unsuccessful on their lone power play opportunity, but did outshoot Bakersfield 8-6, four of those shots coming on the power play.
Bakersfield knotted the game at 1-1, 3:38 into the third period, as C Nicholas Tremblay potted a rebound off a D Chris Haltigin shot past Wranglers G Mitch O'Keefe. However, just minutes later Las Vegas took the lead for good as F Chris Francis blistered a slap shot through traffic that found the back of the net at 5:23 to put the Wranglers back in front at 2-1. The Condors pulled Stewart with 1:30 remaining in the period, but could not find the extra attacker tying tally and fell by the 2-1 margin.
