The Solar Bears return home tonight to face the Greenville Road Warriors after a six game road trip. Orlando ended the trip with three straight games against the current leader of the South Division, the Gwinnett Gladiators. The Solar Bears battled in all three contests, coming up just short in 5-4, 3-1, and 3-2 losses over the weekend. Greenville has been playing strong hockey of late, going undefeated in regulation over their past five games (3-0-0-2). Tonight, they play their eighth straight game on the road, wrapping up a nine-game road trip when the Solar Bears host the Road Warriors tomorrow night. Greenville is 3-2-0-2 in the seven games they have played during their road trip thus far. Orlando last hosted Greenville for a pair of games on January 30 and February first, with the Solar Bears going 1-0-0-1 in that two game set.
Black Bear Becomes Solar Bear:
The Orlando Solar Bears announced today that they have agreed to terms with C Kyle Beattie.
Beattie (6'1", 185 lbs.) joins the Solar Bears after finishing a four-year career at the University of Maine (NCAA). In four years with Maine, the native of Avondale, Arizona, scored 58 points on 20 goals and 38 assists in 115 games. During his sophomore season in 2011-12, Beattie had his best offensive year with 27 points on six goals and 21 assists in 40 games.
He is expected to make his Solar Bears debut tonight.
Solar Bears Notes:
The Solar Bears play their first home game tonight since March 2. They are 18-9-1-3 at home this season... Orlando has earned at least one point in all three home games they have played against Greenville this season with a 1-0-0-2 record... Orlando is 13-3-0-3 at home when scoring at least three goals. They are undefeated in regulation (11-0-0-3) when scoring four or more times... D Michael Wilson is tied for ninth among defensemen with 32 points. His 27 assists are tied for fifth among blueliners... The Solar Bears will wear special St. Patrick's Day jerseys tonight... D Ryan Blair has been placed on the 21-day IR... G Mike Brodeur, D Josh Caron, F Dan Dries, D Jesse Dudas, D Sean Lorenz, and C Mathew Sisca remain on the 21-day IR... F Chris Lawrence has not played since March 2 and is not expected to play today... F Scott Tanski missed the last two Solar Bears games against Gwinnett, and is not expected to play today... F C.J. Severyn remains in the AHL with the Charlotte Checkers.

Players who scored their first professional goals this season will be honored, and five Top Shelf Awards handed out to those people who have shown a special dedication to helping the Solar Bears.

F Marc-Olivier Vallerand is tied for the league lead with four shorthanded goals, is 11th in the ECHL with 63 points and is tied for fifth with 43 assists... Defenseman T.J. Reynolds is second in the league with 48 minor penalties and is fifth among defensemen with 153 PIM... D Steven Delisle is fifth in the league with a +25 plus/minus rating... F Jordie Johnston is ninth among rookies with 42 points and is tied for fifth among first-year players with 20 goals... Greenville is 21st on the power play at 14.1 percent (38-for-270) and 20th on the penalty kill at 79.9 percent (234-for-293)... F Marc-Olivier Vallerand leads the team in assists (43) and points (63), F Brandon Wong leads the team in goals (24).
