
P-Bruins fall to Rampage 5-1

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins fell to the San Antonio Rampage 5-1 Friday evening at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The P-Bruins got their goal from Peter Schaefer. The first place P-Bruins are back at home at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday versus the Manitoba Moose at 4:05 p.m. for Kid's Hat Night.
The Rampage took a 1-0 lead at the 9:18 mark of the opening period. Kevin Porter tallied his seventh goal of the season, while David Spina and Kyle Turris recorded the assists. San Antonio took a 2-0 advantage only 29 seconds later. Simon Ferguson netted his second goal of the season, with Igor Gongalsky and Sean Sullivan picking up the assists. The Rampage led 2-0 after the first period.
San Antonio went ahead 3-0 at the 13:05 mark of the second period. Turris scored his first goal of the season, while Spina and Derek Nesbitt had the assists. The Rampage went into the second intermission leading 3-0.
In the third period, San Antonio took a 4-0 lead at the 2:03 mark. Alexander Nikulin tallied his eighth goal of the season, while Spina and Jeff May grabbed the assists. The P-Bruins got on the scoreboard at the 3:55 mark. Martin St. Pierre had the puck at the blue line and passed it off to Adam McQuaid cutting down the right wing. He found Schaefer in front of the net who scored his sixth goal of the season. San Antonio finished off the scoring at the 15:29 mark. Turris netted his second goal of the game with Spina and May getting the assists. The Rampage went on to the 5-1 victory.
Tuukka Rask stopped 31 of 36 shots for the P-Bruins, while Josh Tordjman made 25 saves for the Rampage. The P-Bruins were 0-for-6 on the power play and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.
Providence returns to action at the Cumberland County Civic Center Saturday to take on the Portland Pirates at 7:00 p.m. The P-Bruins wrap up the weekend at The Dunk Sunday for Kid's Hat Night at 4:05 p.m. versus the Manitoba Moose.
