Bulldogs blank Admirals 2-0

Norfolk, VA - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Norfolk Admirals 2-0 on Friday night. Marc Denis made 43 saves for his fifth shutout of the season and second shutout in less than a week.

While on a 5-on-3 power-play, the Bulldogs opened the game's scoring at 16:20 of the middle frame. Brock Trotter sent a pass to David Desharnais, who was positioned in the slot. Desharnais blasted a slapshot that sailed past Norfolk starting goaltender Riku Helenius.

Hamilton took a 2-0 lead at 7:08 of the final frame. Dan Jancevski collected the puck before feed a pass to Steve Gainey, who was at the side of the net. Helenius did not make it across the crease quick enough and Gainey tapped the puck into the back of the net.

The Bulldogs continue their five-game road trip on tomorrow night in Wilkes-Barre for a battle against the Penguins at 7:05 p.m. Fans can listen to every ‘Dogs game on the flagship station of the Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Network, TALK 820.
