Columbus Assigns Dan LaCosta

Syracuse, NY (February 13, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned goaltender Dan LaCosta to the Crunch.

LaCosta, 22, has appeared in 34 games for the Crunch this season, going 15-14-2 with a 2.58 goals against average and .917 save percentage. He has also appeared in three games for Columbus this season, going 2-0-0 with a 1.54 goals against average and .950 save percentage.

LaCosta earned his first NHL win in his first start, stopping 28 of 30 shots vs. San Jose, February 7. In his second NHL start, LaCosta earned his first shutout, denying all 31 shots he faced from Colorado on February 10.

A native of Labrador City, Newfoundland, LaCosta was drafted by Columbus in the third round, 93rd overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
