Albany Recalls Noah Babin From Florida Everblades

ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today that defenseman Noah Babin has been recalled to Albany from the Florida Everblades of the ECHL. Babin was recalled to the River Rats after captain Tim Conboy received a four-game suspension from the AHL for his actions during Tuesday's game against Portland at HSBC Arena in Buffalo.

Babin, 24, was reassigned to Florida on January 2nd and has posted 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists) and a +6 rating in 18 games for the Everblades this season. The Palm Beach Gardens, Florida native has appeared in 22 games for the River Rats this year, with no points and 13 penalty minutes. Signed by the Carolina Hurricanes in March of 2007 as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Notre Dame, Babin has played in 79 career AHL games, all with Albany, and has recorded 11 points (1 goal, 10 assists). Babin's offense has elevated in February, scoring points in five of Florida's six games in the month, six points overall (3 goals, 3 assists), including his first career two goal performance on Wednesday versus Cincinnati.

Babin is expected to be in the lineup Friday night, February 13th as Albany begins a three-game home stand at the Times Union Center by hosting the Springfield Falcons for a 7:00 pm face off. On Saturday, February 14th the River Rats face the Lowell Devils for a Valentine's Day game at 7:00 pm.
