Ontario Reign News Release

ONTARIO, Calif. - Ontario Professional Hockey is no more, officially becoming the Ontario Reign, as the official ECHL team name was announced Wednesday. The name was chosen from over 600 suggestions received between November 16 and December 5, with Mike Brewster of Fontana submitting the winning entry. He receives two season tickets to the 2008/2009 regular season, slated to begin in October at the new Citizens Business Bank Arena.

The name Reign conjures up the image of strength, size, longevity and royalty incorporating the region of Ontario, known as the Inland Empire, as well as the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL who are the affiliate. A logo unveiling is tentatively scheduled for mid January.

"We were very excited when we came across this name because it makes sense for so many reasons", said Justin Kemp, Executive Vice President of Business Development for the new Ontario Reign. "We will in essence be 'reigning' an empire, led by our affiliate the 'Kings'. We look forward to getting the creative juices flowing and developing a sensational logo and marketing campaign for the upcoming season and many years to come."

The launching of the official website for the Ontario Reign is also being targeted for mid January. Season ticket deposits are currently be taken for just $25 per seat, guaranteeing every minute of excitement for the inaugural year.
