Teddy Bear Toss Highlights Weekend's Events as Ice Pilots Battle Rival Mississippi
December 12, 2007 - ECHL (ECHL)
Pensacola Ice Pilots News Release
PENSACOLA, FL - The Ice Pilots will host the Mississippi Sea Wolves for the first time in three seasons at the Hangar this weekend. Mississippi returns to the ECHL after a two year layoff due to Hurricane Katrina. The Pilots have split the first three meetings which occurred in Biloxi. The last contest saw Pensacola defeat the Sea Wolves 4-3 on November 17.
Fans who want to see all the action of this renewed rivalry can purchase a six pack that will allow them to see all six meetings between the two teams at the Hangar this season. The package is available for just $60 and offers a ticket for each game in the silver level seating area.
The annual Teddy Bear Toss will take place at Friday night's game which is a 7:05 p.m. start. All fans are asked to bring a new stuffed toy to throw onto the ice after the Ice Pilots score their first goal. These bears and stuffed animals will be delivered to children in local Pensacola area hospitals.
When the Ice Pilots take on the Sea Wolves this Sunday at 5:05 p.m. it will be the first of five Sunday home games which feature Saturn Sundays and Gulf States Recycle Sundays. Fans can register for a chance to play score-o to win a 2008 Saturn Sky Turbo. Also, fans can receive a silver level ticket voucher good for any 2007-2008 regular season home game.
The Ice Pilots and Marines are teaming up this holiday season for Toys for Tots. As last Saturday, fans can bring a new, unwrapped toy to the Civic Center before this Friday and Sunday's home games against the Sea Wolves and receive a silver level ticket voucher for any 2007-2008 regular season home game. The toys will be donated to the less fortunate of our Pensacola community.
Don't miss the hard hitting, exciting action, as the Ice Pilots' next home game is Friday, December 14 at 7:05 p.m. vs. Mississippi at the Civic Center. It is Teddy Bear Toss Night and the Marines will be collecting toys for Toys for Tots. 2007-2008 Season Tickets, Mini Plans, and Military Packages are still available through the Ice Pilots office.
