ANCHORAGE, Alaska - The first 28 minutes of game action again proved prolific for Alaska, who scored three more power play goals to build a 5-1 lead in an eventual 5-2 decision over Stockton in front of 3,519 Tuesday at Sullivan Arena.

The Aces struck first at even strength as Kimbi Daniels broke a streak of eight consecutive games without a goal at 8:11, taking a pass from Josh Soares, gliding down the slot, and flipping a backhander past Tim Boron, who came on in relief of an injured Glenn Fisher just 66 seconds into the game. Fisher appeared to have been struck in the collarbone by a shot during pre-game warm-ups.

Stockton tied the game on its own power play as Jake MicFlickier followed his own shot at 10:53, but Alaska took the lead for good less than five minutes later with the first of three straight goals with the man advantage, scored by F.P. Guenette at 15:27, his third consecutive game with a goal. The Aces pushed their lead to 3-1 early in the second period when Bo Cheesman ran his goal-scoring streak to three games with his 12th of the season (second on the team). Olivier Filion set up Cam Keith from point-blank range at 5:41 for another power play goal, and when Daniels scored off the rush less than two minutes later, Alaska once again had demoralized its opponent before the halfway mark of the contest. The Aces had raced to a 6-0 lead after 28 minutes in their 7-2 demolition of Bakersfield Saturday.

Stockton managed to score the game's final goal, a power play tally by Stephane Goulet at 6:38 of the third period, and out-shot Alaska 21-4 over the last 30 minutes, but never seriously threatended. The Aces have won eight straight games at home and remain perfect against the Thunder at Sullivan Arena (7-0) heading into tomorrow night's rematch at 7:15 p.m. Alaska has gone 8-for-13 on the power play in its last two victories and now sits just one point out of the West Division lead at 14-8-1 overall. All regular season games are broadcast live on Alaska's flagship station, AM 750 KFQD, with coverage beginning 15 minutes prior to the opening face-off.
