
Balanced Scoring Leads Las Vegas over Utah 6-2

West Valley, UT - The Las Vegas Wranglers (17-2-2, 36 Points) defeated the Utah Grizzlies (11-10-2, 24 Points) 6-2 at the E-Center on Wednesday night. Forwards Brandon Kaleniecki, Shawn Limpright, Tyler Mosienko, Josh Sciba (2) and Peter Ferraro each scored for Las Vegas in the win. Goalie Daniel Manzato stopped 28 of 30 Utah shots, improving to 8-0-0 on the season. Wranglers center Chris Ferraro recorded his 599th career point with an assist in the first period. The Wranglers remain unbeaten in their last 15 games in regulation (13-0-2). Las Vegas will stay in Utah for games at the E-Center at 6:05 pm (PST) on Friday and Saturday.
Las Vegas jumped out to a 2-0 first-period lead with goals by Peter Ferraro and Brandon Kaleniecki. The first goal of the night was the 11th of the season for Ferraro, who gave the Wranglers the 1-0 lead just 2:56 into the game. Peter's twin brother, Chris set up the goal for his 599th career point. The Wranglers tallied a shorthanded goal by Kaleniecki with just over five minutes to go in the period. In his first game back from injury, forward Kelly Czuy carried the puck the length of the ice, setting up a 2-on-1 advantage for the Wranglers. Czuy slipped a pass to Kaleniecki, who gave Las Vegas a 2-0 lead at 14:47 of the first period.
In the second period, Las Vegas expanded the lead to four goals with tallies by Shawn Limpright and Tyler Mosienko. Limpright's goal was set up by Mosienko at 3:31 of the middle period, giving the Wranglers a 3-0 lead. The Wranglers made it 4-0 when Mosienko tipped in his seventh goal of the season at 9:16. The Grizzlies countered with a pair of goals before the end of the period, cutting the Las Vegas lead in half at 4-2. Grizzlies forward Olivier Labelle netted his fifth of the season at 15:11, spoiling the Wranglers shutout at 4-1. Utah's Justin Bourne scored his fourth goal of the season with 49-seconds remaining in the period, bringing the Grizzlies within two.
In the third period, Las Vegas regained a three-goal lead as Josh Sciba scored his first goal as a Wrangler at 12:01 for the 5-2 lead. Sciba added his second goal of the night at 16:03 for the 6-2 final.
The Wranglers continue on their five-game road trip with two more games in Utah this Friday and Saturday at 6:05 pm (PST). Las Vegas will also play at the E-Center on Friday and Saturday at 6:05 pm (PST). Next week, the Wranglers host the fifth annual Midnight Holiday Roundup at 11:59 pm on Monday, December 17th against the Phoenix RoadRunners.
