
OF Eloy Jimenez placed on the DL

OF Eloy Jiménez, who is ranked as the top prospect in the Chicago White Sox system, has been placed on Charlotte's DL today. The 21-year-old slugger left yesterday's game against the Gwinnett Stripers. After an MRI and examination today in Charlotte, he was diagnosed with a strain of his left adductor muscle. He is expected to return to game action in approximately two weeks. Jiménez has appeared in 12 games with the Knights since being promoted from Double-A Birmingham, and has compiled a .293 batting average (12-for-41) with four runs scored, one double, two home runs, and four RBIs.
INF/OF Ryan Brett has been promoted to the Knights today from Double-A Birmingham, his second promotion of the season to Charlotte. Brett has appeared in 44 games with the Barons this season and hit .266 (42-for-158) with 25 runs scored, nine doubles, one triple, three home runs, and 15 RBIs. He has also appeared in two games with the Knights this season and is 0-for-2 with a walk.
OF Jacob May, who was placed on Charlotte's DL on June 23rd, was activated off the team's DL today. He has appeared in 62 games with the Knights this season and is fourth in the International League in stolen bases with 13. For the season, he is hitting .252 (59-for-234) with 20 runs scored, 11 doubles, two home runs, 27 RBIs, and 13 steals.
RHP Donny Roach, who is 9-2 with a 2.65 ERA this season with the Knights (16 games, 15 games started), has been placed on the team's Temporary Inactive List. He went 5-0 with a 0.98 ERA in the month of June. Earlier today, he was named as the International League's Player of the Month and the Chicago White Sox Minor League Pitcher of the Month (both for the month of June).
