Kevin Quackenbush Named International League Pitcher of the Week

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The International League announced today that Louisville Bats right-handed relief pitcher Kevin Quackenbush has been named International League Player of the Week for the week of June 25-July 1. It is the first time in his career that Quackenbush has won a league's Player of the Week award.

Quackenbush made 3 appearances (6/27, 6/30, 7/1) for Louisville during the week, recording saves in each of the games. In 3.1 innings, he allowed no runs, 2 hits, walking none and striking out 3, one strikeout in each appearance. The right-hander was named to the IL All-Star roster on June 27, along with fellow Louisville right-hander Tanner Rainey.

Quackenbush has made 24 appearances for Louisville this season, allowing just 2 runs (one earned), a 0.36 ERA. In 24.2 innings, he's walked just 2 and struck out 28, with his 14.0 strikeout-to-walk ratio ranking best in the IL, minimum 20 innings pitched. He's converted 11 saves in 12 opportunities, tied for second in the IL in saves.

He is the first Louisville player to win a weekly award since infielder Juan Perez took IL Batter of the Week honors, April 17-23, 2017.

He is the first Louisville player to win IL Pitcher of the Week since right-hander Daniel Wright won the award, May 16-22, 2016.

He is the first relief pitcher to win IL Pitcher of the Week since Scranton/Wilkes-Barre right-hander Jonathan Holder won the award, August 22-28, 2016.
