The first-place IronPigs (47-34) play the opener of a two-game series against the Syracuse Chiefs (34-47) at Coca-Cola Park. It is also the opener of a four-game, home-and-home series with the Chiefs... With a 7-6 loss last night, the Pigs fell six outs short of their first-ever series sweep at Frontier Field. Still, the Pigs have won six of their last nine games and own an 18-8 record in their last 26 affairs. Lehigh Valley is tied with Durham (47-34) for the best record in the IL... The Chiefs --Washington's top affiliate -- lost, 4-1, yesterday to Buffalo but still took the three-game, home series with the Bisons. The Chiefs are 4-3 over their last seven games after positing a 7-22 record from May 30 though June 28 -- a span that included a season-high, eight-game losing steak (June 9-16)... The Pigs swept the last meeting in a three-game series at Syracuse from May 18-20.

RHP Drew Anderson (5-2, 3.35) will start for LHV against RHP John Simms (2-4, 3.75).

First-Pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
