Neslony Promoted to Charlotte on Tuesday

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - In addition to today's earlier roster moves (RHP Davis Martin added to Chicago White Sox and catcher Yasmani Grandal sent to Knights on MLB Rehab), OF Tyler Neslony was promoted to the Charlotte Knights today from the Double-A Birmingham Barons.

Neslony, 28, has appeared in 64 games with the Barons this season and is hitting .326 (84-for-258) with 49 runs scored, 26 doubles, three triples, 11 home runs, 44 RBIs and 16 stolen bases. He currently leads the Southern League in doubles (26), extra-base hits (40) and total bases (149). He is second in the Southern League in batting average (.326), on-base percentage (.404), slugging percentage (.578) and OPS (.982). He also currently ranks fourth in the league in runs scored (49) and fourth in hits (84).

Neslony was acquired by the Chicago White Sox on July 11, 2021 from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for cash. He was originally drafted by the Braves in the ninth round of the June 2016 First-Year Player Draft. A native of Corpus Christi, TX, Neslony is a product of Texas Tech University. A 2018 Southern League All-Star, Neslony combined to hit .296 last season in 57 games with Mississippi and Birmingham. He hit .355 (43-for-121) with the Barons in 38 games last season.
