NORFOLK, VA - In his third Triple-A start, Chris Murphy hurled seven scoreless innings to lead the Worcester Red Sox (45-40) to a 2-1 win over the Norfolk Tides (41-44) on Tuesday night at Harbor Park.

Murphy allowed five baserunners (two hits, two walks, and a hit by pitch) over his seven innings. The left-hander also struck out three.

Worcester scored first, as Devlin Granberg scored on a wild pitch to put the WooSox on top 1-0 in the fourth inning.

The WooSox added their second run on a sacrifice fly from Ronaldo Hernandez in the seventh.

Darwinzon Hernandez pitched a scoreless and hitless eighth inning. In four relief appearances since returning on July 4 from meniscus surgery, Hernandez has yet to allow a run, and he has struck out six.

Rylan Bannon hit a two-out, solo home run off Zack Kelly to account for Norfolk's only run.

Worcester has now won seven of its last eight road games.

43 of Worcester's 85 games have now been decided by two runs or less. They are 22-21 in those games.

The WooSox continue their six-game series with the Tides tomorrow night at Harbor Park. Radio coverage begins at 6:15 p.m. on 98.9 Nash Icon, 100.1 FM the Pike, and throughout the WooSox Radio Network.
