ABOUT SUNDAY: The Indians pitching staff shined while facing one batter over the minimum after the first inning and holding the I-Cubs to five total baserunners in their series-tying shutout on Sunday, 2-0. After Zach Matson stranded a pair of runners on with two outs in the first inning and a caught stealing erased a leadoff walk in the top of the second, the Indians mowed down opposing batters with just one additional hit allowed in the sixth. Noe Toribio fanned two over 4.0 scoreless innings in relief of Matson, and Cam Alldred and Cam Vieaux combined for 3.0 perfect innings to shut down the game. Carter Bins crushed a solo shot in the second - his second of the series and fifth of the season - to give Indy the lead before tacking on an insurance run off a passed ball in the fourth en route to a 2-0 series finale victory.

BINS BOMBS: Carter Bins' second-inning homer on Sunday afternoon was the lone highlight in an otherwise silent offensive game from both squads. Bins has now homered in back-to-back games for the third time in his career and his five home runs this season with Indy leads all Indians catchers. The last time Bins smacked homers in consecutive games was 6/6 (1)-6/8/21 for High-A Everett.

RODOLFO ROLLING: With a double in the ninth inning Saturday night, Rodolfo Castro extended his hitting streak to four consecutive games since Wednesday vs. Iowa. On Thursday, he tallied a season-high three hits to lead the offense. Since 7/2 when he went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, he is hitting .348 (8-for-23) with three extra-base hits.

MITCHELL DOESN'T MISS: Cal Mitchell singled on Sunday and has now hit safely in 15 of his last 16 games with a .355 average (22-for-62), six doubles and 13 RBI. He's been a hitting machine for the Indians this season, hitting safely in 35 of his 44 Triple-A games with a .317 average (52-for-164), .488 slugging percentage and .851 OPS. He recorded an 11-game hitting streak from 5/17-7/4, the second-longest streak among Indians batters this season, with a .419 average (18-for-43) and .934 OPS. He also recorded a seven-game RBI streak from 4/5-13, which is the third-longest streak in the International League this season.

TICK TOCK: The trend of fast-paced action continued on Sunday with a 1:53 minute contest to mark the Indians shortest game of the season. It was the first sub-2:00 game since Nick Kingham tossed a complete game vs. Syracuse in 1:58 on Aug. 10, 2017. Indy's shortest game at Victory Field since the ballpark opened in 1996 came on May 13, 1998 vs. Pawtucket (1:49).

SHOVIN': Dominant pitching on Sunday led to Indy's fifth shutout of the season - tying the pitching staff's five total shutouts all of last season. Zach Matson made his fifth spot start of the season for Indians and went 2.0 innings to extend his scoreless streak to 5.2 innings. Noe Toribio came in relief of Matson to post his best Triple-A to date, going 4.0 one-hit innings and striking out two batters without surrendering a walk. Cam Alldred and Cam Vieaux posted a perfect line with 3.0 combined innings and three strikeouts to close the game out. Indy held the opposition to three hits for the first time since June 3 at Omaha.

SUNDAY FUNDAY: On Sundays, the Indians own a 3.39 ERA (44er/116.2ip) that ranks second amongst their International League counterparts, behind only Rochester (3.19). Southpaw Cam Alldred leads the staff with 8.1 scoreless innings and Indy has won three of their last four matchups on Sunday, with the only loss coming to first-place Nashville.

TONIGHT: The Indians begin a six-game road trip at Columbus tonight at 7:05 PM ET. The Indians and Clippers will meet for their third series of the season and their first in Columbus. Indy leads the season series 7-5, after splitting the first series (4/19-24) and then taking their second six-game set (6/7-12) four games to two. Bryse Wilson will look to continue his success as he takes the mound for the Indians and southpaw Logan Allen will counter for the Clippers. Allen has surrendered five runs in each of his first two Triple-A starts since being called up in late June.

ANOTHER REHAB: The Pittsburgh Pirates today announced that outfielder Greg Allen had his major league rehab assignment transferred to Triple-A Indianapolis. In three games in Single-A Bradenton, Allen hit .333 (3-for-9). Allen has yet to make his season debut due to a hamstring injury that landed him on the 60-day IL prior to the start of the season.

THIS DATE IN 1996: A day after playing their first game at the brand new Victory Field in downtown Indianapolis, the Indians won their first game there vs. Oklahoma City, 2-1. Mike Remlinger allowed just one run on two hits over 6.1 innings, and the Indianapolis bullpen backed him by allowing just three hits over the next 2.2 innings. Pokey Reese went 2-for-4 and drove in Roberto Mejia twice for the two winning runs.
