Charlotte Knights News Release

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- Left fielder Adam Haseley launched a three-run home run in the first inning to propel the Charlotte Knights to a 5-2 win over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in game one of the six-game series from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte on Tuesday night. The win was Charlotte's second in as many games.

For the second consecutive game, Haseley provided much of Charlotte's offense to lead the team to a victory. On Sunday, he doubled home Charlotte's lone run in a 1-0 win. On Tuesday, his three-run home run in the first provided the Knights with an early lead - and the team never looked back. For the game, Haseley went 2-for-4 with the home run and three RBIs. The home run was his 10th of the season.

LHP Kyle Kubat started for the Knights and was solid over four innings of work. He allowed two runs on five hits over the four frames on Tuesday. RHP Lincoln Henzman (2-1, 4.85) came on in relief of Kubat and pitched two shutout innings to earn the win. Charlotte's bullpen combined to hold the 'Pigs scoreless over the final five innings. RHP Yacksel Ríos struck out two batters in the ninth to earn his third save of the season.

Chicago White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandal started a rehab assignment on Tuesday and went 2-for-3 with two runs scored at the plate. Charlotte center fielder Mark Payton also chipped in with two hits on the night.

The Knights will continue the six-game series against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies) on Wednesday night at 7:04 p.m. from Truist Field. Long-time Knights broadcaster Mike Pacheco will have the call for all of the action on 730 The Game ESPN Charlotte and www.CharlotteKnights.com.
