7-10 SPLIT: The Rochester Red Wings earned a series split in Lehigh Valley with Sunday's extra-inning, 2-0 win...RHP Logan Verrett pitched a scoreless seven innings, scattering just three hits and punching out four IronPigs in the process...SS Ildemaro Vargas, OF Josh Palacios, and 3B Jecksson Flores all logged multi-hit performances while each picking up at least one double apiece...RHP Patrick Murphy and RHP Matt Brill came on in relief and allowed just one hit in three scoreless innings, striking out four Bacon Men between them...the Wings send RHP Cade Cavalli to the bump in their first contest versus Omaha since 1990...he will be opposed by Omaha RHP Daniel Mengden.

DON'T TEST VERRETT: RHP Logan Verrett tied a season-high (June 26 v SYR) of seven scoreless innings in the Wings' win on Sunday night...Verrett's scoreless-outing was his second of the season, his first coming on June 9 in Saint Paul...in his last six starts, the veteran has just a 3.15 ERA across 34.1 innings...the righty is top on the team in both categories over that span.

Rochester collected their seventh shutout Sunday night and their second of the series...the shutout was Rochester's first in extra-innings since June 5, 2013 (vs. PAW)...the club had multiple shutouts in a series for the first time since May 3 - May 8 versus Scranton/WB.

JECKSSON, FLOOR-IT: 3B Jecksson Flores reached base in three of four plate appearances, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and a walk...Flores is 4-for-12 (.333) since being assigned to Rochester on June 30.

A LITTLE MORE BASEBALL: Sunday's win brings the Red Wings' record to 5-2 in extra-inning games, tying Buffalo for the best extra-innings win percentage (.714%) in the International League-East...3B Adrian Sanchez's pinch-hit RBI brought in the winning run in the top of the 10th...Rochester has outscored their opponents 14-6 in extra-innings this season, averaging two runs per extra-inning contest.

PUSHING P(ALACIOS): OF Josh Palacios went 3-for-5 in the Wings' extra-inning win on Sunday, smacking a double in the process...the former Auburn Tiger extended his on-base streak to 19 games (since 6/19), which is the longest on-base streak this season among Wings hitters.

If Palacios reaches base in the next three games, the lefty will have the longest on-base streak by a Wing since Zander Wiel logged 22 games on the base paths in 2019 (8/11-9/2/2019)...

SWEET SIXTEEN FOR SUPER ILDE-MARIO: SS Ildemaro Vargas logged his 16th multi-hit performance of the year on Sunday, going 2-for-5 with two doubles...it was the second time this year that the Venezuela-native logged multiple XBH in a contest with his two doubles (13), now ranking him fourth on the club in that category...after only posting a .100 (2-for-20) average in the previous series (versus WOR), the switch-hitter batted .360 (9-for-25) with a home run, three doubles, two RBI, two runs and a walk across the most recent series in Lehigh Valley.

BACK IN MY DAY: Tonight, Rochester will face off against the Omaha Storm Chasers at Frontier Field for the first time...the last time the Red Wings played Omaha was on June 26, 1990, at Silver Stadium...the Wings are 1-4 all-time against Omaha and have lost four-straight to the Storm Chasers...the last time that the Wings and Omaha shared the field:

- The Rockies, Marlins, Rays, D-Backs did not exist

- The Soviet Union was still in existence

- #1 song: Step by Step by New Kids on the Block

- #1 Movie: Total Recall starring Arnold Schwarzenegger

- The Simpsons was not yet on television

- A McDonald's hamburger cost $0.89

- Michael Jordan had not yet won an NBA title

- Lebron James was 5 years old and Aubrey Drake Graham was 3 years old

LET'S START STRONG: Rochester looks to take a series-opener for the first time since May 24 (v SYR)...the Red Wings have lost six-straight series openers and currently hold a 4-10 record...the club has been out-scored 36-16 in game one of their last six series and have not scored more than two runs in their last four series openers.

MEDAL MAN: Fresh off his International League Pitcher of the Week selection, RHP Cade Cavalli, will get the ball for Rochester in the series-opener versus Omaha...the Nationals' top prospect will look to build on his most recent performance where he went seven shutout innings, scattering just two hits while recording seven strikeouts...Cavalli's 2.31 ERA since May 22 is the third-best in the International League since that date...the righty has recorded a 3-0 record in seven starts over that span.
