The Nailers are on a current three game-winning streak which ties the longest winning streak of the season...The Nailers are on a current season high three game road winning streak dating back to November 28 at Trenton...The Nailers are 12-1-0 when scoring the first goal of the game and are 13-3-1 when out shooting the opposition...The Nailers are 6-0-0 when leading after the first period and 10-0-1 when leading after the second period.
Friday, December 5 Wheeling 5 @ Cincinnati 4
The Nailers took a 1-0 lead at 1:54 of the first period on a Bogdan Rudenko power play goal. Cincinnati tied the game 1-1 late in the first period. The Nailers reclaimed the lead with two early second period goals from Mark Kosick and Rudenko. Cincinnati tied the game with a pair of goals midway through the second period. Before the period ended the Nailers got a goal from Jason Jaffray to take a 4-3 lead. The Cyclone tied the game again early in the third period on a power play goal. J.C. Ruid scored the eventual game-winning goal at 11:06 of the final period for the Nailers 5-4 win.
Saturday, December 6 Wheeling 5 @ Toledo 4 (SO)
Wheeling and Toledo each scored a first period goal with the Nailers scoring first at 7:10 from Arpad Mihaly and the Storm tying the game at 11:35. Toledo took a 2-1 lead on a power play goal early in the second period. The Nailers tied the game 2-2 on a J.F. Dufour goal. Toledo reclaimed their lead 20 seconds later, but the Nailers scored again before the second period ended to tie the game 3-3 at the end of two periods of play. The Nailers took a 4-3 lead at 15:21 of the final period on Dufour's second goal of the game. Toledo tied the game 4-4 at 19:28 with their goalie pulled for an extra attacker to send the game to overtime and an eventual shootout. Nick Boucher saved all four shots he faced for the Nailers and Wheeling got shootout goals from Jason Jaffray and Mark Kosick for the win.
Sunday, December 7 Trenton 1 @ Wheeling 2
For the third straight game the Nailers scored the first goal to take a 1-0 lead. Jason Jaffray gave the Nailers the lead with a power play goal from Jake Ortmeyer and J.C. Ruid at 4:10 of the opening period. The Nailers increased their lead to 2-0 at 6:13 of the second period. The goal was an unassisted, short handed goal by Chris McNamara, the second Nailers short handed goal of the season. Trenton scored their only goal of the game, a power play goal, at 17:59 of the third period. Nick Boucher made 16 saves on 17 shots for his fifth win in his last five starts.

Friday, December 12 Toledo @ Wheeling 7:30p.m.
The Nailers host the Storm for the second time this season, having lost 3-2 in a shootout on November 1 in the first game. The Nailers enter the game 2-1-1 against the Storm this season. The first 1,000 fans age 14 and younger will receive a Penguins Youth Back Pack before the game.
Saturday, December 13 Wheeling @ Dayton 7:30p.m.
The Nailers travel to Dayton for the first time this season. In the only game between the teams this season, the Nailers won 9-1 in Wheeling on November 9. This will be the last road game for the Nailers until January 4 at Dayton. In between the Dayton road games, the Nailers will have a nine game home stand.
Sunday, December 14 Atlantic City @ Wheeling 6:00p.m.
The Nailers host the defending Kelly Cup Champions for the first of three games this season and face them for the first of eight regular season games. The Nailers will wear their Holiday Jersey for the first time for this game. The team will wear the Holiday Jersey's through December 20 and the jersey's will then be auctioned to the fans.
Nailers Player of the Week:
The Nailers Player of the Week is J.C. Ruid. Ruid had at least one point in every game last week, including the game-winning goal on Friday. He finished the week with one goal and three assists and played at a +1.
Nailers Goaltender of the Week:
The Nailers Goaltender of the Week is Nick Boucher. Boucher improved his season record to 5-1-0 with one shutout by winning all three games he started last week. He made 75 saves on 84 shots for a save percentage of .893. His goals against average last week was 2.92. He was also perfect in four shots in a shootout on Saturday night in Toledo.
