The Week Ahead:
Friday, December 12, Vs Gwinnett â 7:30 @ North Charleston Coliseum

This is the fourth meeting of the season between these two teams. The Rays have a record of 2-1 against the Gladiators. The Stingrays topped Gwinnett 2-1 on Saturday. Gwinnett is in first place in the Central Division at 15-5-3.

This is the second meeting of the season between these two teams. The Stingrays won the first meeting 3-2 on opening night in North Charleston. Greenville has the worst record in the ECHL at 4-13-2.
The Week That Was:
Tuesday, December 2, Stingrays 3 Vs Reading 2
Kevin Spiewak had two goals and an assist as the Stingrays opened up a 3-0 lead. Kirk Daubenspeck earned the win as he held off the late charging Royals, he made 31 saves.
Friday, December 5, Stingrays 3 @ Florence 2 OT
Jason Bonsignore netted the game winning goal to give the Stingrays their second straight win. David Brumby earned his fourth win of the season making 33 saves. Aaron Power scored a power play goal which marked the ninth straight game that the Stingrays had scored on the man advantage.
Saturday, December 6, Stingrays 2 Vs Gwinnett 1
Robin Gomez had two goals including the game winner, in the third period, as the Rays stretched their season long winning streak to three games. Kirk Daubenspeck earned the victory with 35 saves.
Rays Building Houses for Charity
The South Carolina Stingrays will volunteer for Habitat for Humanity on Wednesday, December 10. The Stingrays will swing hammers to help build homes in the downtown area. The exact locations will be given to the media on Tuesday afternoon. This is the third year that the Rays have participated in this project.
The Team:
The Rays sit in fifth place in the Southern Division just two points behind the Roanoke Express for the fourth and final playoff spot. The Stingrays have a record of 11-9-1 and have won their last three games, which is their longest winning streak of the season. South Carolina is now 6-6 at home and 5-3-1 on the road. Saturday night's game was the first game in ten that the Rays had not scored on the power play. The Stingrays power play is ranked 20th in the league at 13.8%. On the penalty kill the Rays are ranked 15th at 83.5%. Third periods continue to haunt the Stingrays, they have allowed 23 goals in the third period and scored just 13 this season.
The Players:
Jason Bonsignore has a goal and three assists in his first three ECHL games, all wins for the Stingrays. Robin Gomez had six shots on goal last Friday night and scored two goals on Saturday night. He now has three goals on the season. Ed Courtenay has three goals and nine assists for 12 points in his last ten games. He leads the Stingrays with 18 points on six goals and 12 assists. Rookie Kevin Spiewak has six goals and eight assists for 14 points, which ties him for second on the team with Dave Seitz and Mike Jickling. Kirk Daubenspeck went 2-0 with a 1.50 GAA this week. He has a record of 7-5-1 with a goals against average of 2.67. David Brumby is among the league leaders with a goals against average of 2.25 and a save percentage of .940.
