The Johnstown Chiefs (14-5-2; 30 PTS; 1st Northern div.) got three out of a possible four points last week as they defeated Peoria in overtime on Friday and lost in a shoot out to Peoria on Saturday. The Chiefs will play their next five games on the road as they travel to Cincinnati on Wednesday and play a pair of games at Peoria Friday and Saturday. Next weekend, they play a pair of games at Dayton. The Chiefs remain in first place in the Northern division leading the second place Wheeling Nailers by one point.

GAME #20 (12/5/03) JOHNSTOWN 3 – Peoria 2 (OT) Hildenbrand Three Points

Dominic Forget's goal with 0:37 left in overtime gave the Johnstown Chiefs and 3-2 come from behind win over the Peoria Rivermen Friday night at the War Memorial. Peoria had a 2-0 lead in the third period as they got goals by Brendan Brooks and Randy Rowe. Chiefs forward Steve Hildenbrand's goal 5:42 into the third period closed the gap to 2-1. Chiefs defenseman P.L. Courchesne tied the game 2-2 with a power play goal with just over 10:00 left in regulation. Forget's game winning goal came on the power play as Peoria's Rowe was whistled off for a double minor high sticking penalty at 1:24. Chiefs goaltender Cory Campbell improved his record to 5-0-0 making 28 saves. Rivermen goaltender Mike Valley also made 28 saves.

GAME #21 (12/6/03) Peoria 4 – JOHNSTOWN 3 (SO) Kelly Goal, Assist

For the second straight night the Johnstown Chiefs battled back from a two goal deficit but this time they fell short as the Peoria Rivermen defeated the Chiefs 4-3 in a shootout, Saturday night at the War Memorial. The Rivermen jumped out to a 2-0 lead with first period goals by Bret DeCecco and Josh Kern. Shawn Mather closed the gap to 2-1 with a goal 14:55 into the opening frame. The Chiefs rallied back and would eventually take the lead with second period goals by Brent Kelly and Willie Levesque. Peoria's Brendan Brooks tied the game 3-3 with 12:35 left in regulation. Peoria won the shootout by a score of 2-0. Chiefs goaltender Cory Campbell (23 saves) remained unbeaten with a 5-0-1 record. Peoria goaltender Mike Valley made 24 saves for his sixth win of the season. The Chiefs record is now 14-5-2 while the Rivermen are 10-5-4.

The Chiefs will face the Cincinnati Cyclones (11-11-1, 23 PTS; 6th Northern div.) for the third time this season Wednesday night in Cincinnati. This is the first of five straight road games for the Chiefs. The Chiefs are 1-0-1 against the Cyclones this season. They have out scored the Cyclones 7-3. Cincinnati is currently in 6th place in the Northern division.

The Chiefs will face the Peoria Rivermen (10-6-4, 24 PTS; 5th Northern div.) for the third and fourth time this season this weekend. The Chiefs are 1-0-1 against the Rivermen this season and 18-26-4 all-time. Peoria is currently in fifth place in the Northern division.

CHIEFS NOTES:

 Dominic Forget has registered a point in ten straight games (4-7-11).

 16 (9-7-16) of Brent Kelly's 18 points have come at home this season.

 On the road, the Chiefs are just 3 for 39 (7%) on the power play.

 Through 21 games last season the Chiefs were 10-10-1.

 The Chiefs are just one of two (South Carolina) ECHL teams that have not scored a shorthanded goal this season.
