Bombers Gaining Momentum

Dayton Bombers News Release


The Bombers kicked off a 6 game home stand this past weekend with 3 straight games at home and went 2-0-1. The Bombers continue this home stand at the Nutter Center beginning Thursday, December 11, 2003 vs. the Peoria Rivermen (7:00pm), Friday, December 12, 2003 vs. the Reading Royals (7:00pm) and Saturday, December 13, 2003 vs. the Wheeling Nailers (7:00pm). Below is a recap of last week's games:

12/5/03 – BOMBERS 6 vs. Greensboro 7 OT

Greensboro's Tom Reiman scored 76 seconds into overtime and the Greensboro Generals, who allowed leads of 5-1 and 6-2 to evaporate, escaped with a 7-6 victory over the Dayton Bombers. Reiman's goal ended a string of four straight tallies by Dayton. Jason Crain and Alex Johnstone scored 46 seconds apart late in the third period to force overtime for the Bombers.

12/6/03 – BOMBERS 4 vs. Trenton 3

Martin Paquet had a goal and two assists to help the Dayton Bombers edge the Trenton Titans, 4-3. Paquet helped out on a first-period goal by both Jake Wiegand and Michael Chin before tallying his third marker of the season with 5:13 left in the second, snapping a 2-2 tie. Jason Deskins added a goal midway through the third period to supply Dayton with a 4-2. Bujar Amidovski had 16 saves in the final stanza and 36 overall for the win.

12/7/03 – BOMBERS 5 @ Toledo 3

Martin Paquet posted a goal and two assists for the second consecutive game, leading the Dayton Bombers over the Toledo Storm, 5-3. Paquet assisted on a goal by Michael Chin that cut the deficit for Dayton to 3-2 with five seconds left in the second period. He also helped out on a tying goal by Chad Theuer 2:26 into the third before netting the game-winner nearly four minutes later. Jason Deskins closed out the scoring with 7:18 remaining in the contest for the Bombers, who improved to 3-1-0 vs. Toledo this season. Bujar Amidovski had 27 saves for the win.
