Toledo Walleye News Release


- The Toledo Storm finished the week at 1-1-1. The Storm has compiled an overall record of 9-9-2. Toledo is eighth in the Northern Division.

- Toledo defeated Cincinnati 3-2 in a shootout on Wednesday night. Toledo then lost a shootout at home to the Wheeling Nailers Saturday night. On Sunday, Toledo lost 5-3 to Dayton.

- Toledo's is now 6-0-2 in games that go past regulation.

- Welcome to Toledo Dustin Kingston! In his first 5 games with the Storm, Dustin has accumulated points in all but one game and 6 points (1-5) in the other 4 contests. Dustin is currently on a 4 game points streak.

- Alexander Jacques does it again! On 11/29 Alex scored with 55 seconds left in regulation to tie Peoria. A week later against Wheeling, Alex scored with just 32 seconds left in regulation to knot the score at 4. Jacques leads Toledo in goal scoring with 9.

- Toledo suffered its first loss Sunday when they had the lead entering the third. Storm went to the third period up 3-2 on Dayton, before surrendering 3 goals to lose 5-3. Toledo had been 4-0-1 when leading through 2 periods.

- On the strength of his 4-point week, Morten Ask (7-11-18) currently is leading the Storm in points. Ask is also tied for the team lead in assists (11) with defenseman Paul Ballentyne.

- On Wednesday, Wes Mason's streak of 11 straight games with penalty minutes came to a close. He started a new streak on Friday night against Wheeling.

- Toledo scored 10 more goals over the past week. Toledo is now ranked 17th in the ECHL averaging 2.90 goals per game.

- Toledo's power play is 13 for 108 (12.00%) on the season, and is ranked 29th in the ECHL.

- Toledo's Penalty kill is now ranked 19th in the ECHL, killing off 82 of the 98 times shorthanded (82.80%).

- Toledo is 4-5-1 on the road this year.

- Toledo is 5-4-1 at home this season.

- Toledo continues a three game road swing Friday night in Wheeling. On Sunday, the Storm will travel to Reading for an afternoon game against the Royals.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION:

Nick Parillo (2 goals - 3 assists = 5 points)

Nick's 5 points were the most picked up by any Storm player for the week. Nick scored 2 goals in Sunday's 5-3 loss at Dayton. That was the second time this season Nick has netted 2 goals in one contest. The first came back on October 18th at Peoria, a 2-1 overtime Storm win. Nick also collected 2 assists in Saturday's shootout loss to the Nailers.

GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK NOMINATION:

Doug Teskey (1-1-1, 3.48 gaa, 0.892 save%)

Due to Drew MacIntyre's injury Doug Teskey started all 3 contests this week going 1-1-1. He saved his best work for Wednesday night in Cincinnati when he stopped all 3 shooters he faced in the shootout of a 3-2 Storm win.
