Titans Winless over Weekend

TRENTON, NJ - Trenton started the weekend tied for fifth place with Peoria and entering a two-game, road trip to Dayton and Wheeling.

Saturday night at the Nutter Center, the Titans jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but the Bombers scored four unanswered goals to seal the 4-3 win. The Titans came into WesBanco Arena on Sunday for the fourth meeting with the Nailers in the past nine days. Nick Boucher continued his dominance of the Titans in a 2-1 victory for the Nailers.

Trenton finds itself in a tie with the Toledo Storm for seventh place in the Northern Division after the weekend series. The Titans continue their December road trip with a game against the Greensboro Generals on Friday, December 12 at 7:30pm and a tilt versus the Reading Royals on Saturday, December 13 at 7:05pm.

LAST WEEK:

Saturday, December 6 @ Dayton - 7:00 pm 4-3 Nutter Center

- Dan Riva and Peter Fregoe put the Titans up 2-0 in the first period with shorthanded goals :49 apart. The Bombers would score four unanswered goals and former Titan Bujar Amidovski stopped 36 of 39 shots to give the Bombers a 4-3 win. Fregoe netted his second goal in two games, while Martin Paquet chipped a goal and two assists for the Bombers.

Sunday, December 7 @ Wheeling - 6:00 pm 2-1 WesBanco Arena

- Nick Boucher had the Titans number once again, making 16 of 17 saves in a 2-1 win for the Nailers. Jason Jaffray tipped home a power play goal and Chris McNamara scored shorthanded to put the Nailers up 2-0. Scott Bertoli would cut the lead to one goal on the power play with :66 remaining in the game. Andrew Allen stopped 28 of 30 shots in the loss.

THIS WEEK:

Friday, December 12 @ Greensboro - 7:30 pm Greensboro Coliseum

- The second of four this year. The Titans took the first contest 4-2 in Greensboro. Matt Zultek had two goals and Andrew Allen made 31 saves in the win.

Saturday, December 13 @ Reading - 7:05 pm Sovereign Center

- The third meeting between the two squads this year and the first in Reading. The Titans are 0-2 versus the Royals this season.

ECHL Player of the Week Nominee:

Dan Riva - Riva notched the Titans first shorthanded goal of the year against the Bombers on Saturday night. He also assisted on the Titans only goal against Wheeling.

ECHL Goalie of the Week Nominee:

Andrew Allen - Allen stopped 28 of 30 shots in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Nailers and made several saves from point blank range to keep the Titans in this contest.
