BACK IN THE SADDLE AGAIN: The Greensboro Generals return to the Greensboro Coliseum on four of the next six occasions, the first set of games beginning against the Gwinnett Gladiators on Thirsty Thursday, December 11th. On the following night the Generals face the Trenton Titans, closing out the week with a road contest at the Columbus Cottonmouths at 7:30 p.m.

LOOKING BACK: In a short week on the ice, the Greensboro Generals finished 1-1 on a the road trip to Ohio. Greensboro began with a 7-6 overtime thriller against Dayton, ending when rookie Tom Reimann scored the game-winning goal just 76 seconds into the period. The following night in Cincinnati, Greensboro was not as fortunate, falling to the Cyclones 5-3. At the completion of the week, Greensboro stood just four points shy of the first place Florida Everblades.

Generals 7, Bombers 6 (OT)

DAYTON, Ohio -- Tom Reiman scored 76 seconds into overtime and the Greensboro Generals escaped with a 7-6 victory over the Dayton Bombers. Reiman's seventh goal of the season ended a string of four straight tallies by Dayton and gave Greensboro its sixth win in its last seven games. Mike Bayrack, who set up Reiman's winner, finished with two goals and two assists for the Generals, who allowed leads of 5-1 and 6-2 to evaporate. Joe Gerbe also scored twice and Daniel Berthiaume made 29 saves for Greensboro. Mike Bozoian and Alex Johnstone scored 46 seconds apart late in the third period to force overtime for the Bombers, who fell to 2-8-1 in their last 11 games. Dayton's Andrew Penner allowed five goals on 17 shots before being replaced by Bujar Amidovski in the second period.

Cyclones 5, Generals 3

CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- Tyler Deis, Scott Cameron and Ryan Brindley each scored in the third period as the Cincinnati Cyclones beat the Greensboro Generals, 5-3. Deis, playing in just his second game, scored at 9:02 to snap a 2-2 tie. Scott Cameron followed at 10:48 with his third of the season and Ryan Brindley tallied his seventh late in the game. Brindley, Deis and Jason Norrie contributed two assists apiece for Cincinnati, which snapped a five-game winless streak (0-4-1). Randy Petruk stopped 23 shots and improved to 8-8. Ryan Bonni, Mike Bayrack and Matt Chandler tallied for Greensboro, which had won six of its previous seven games. Daniel Berthiaume, who made 18 saves, dropped to 14-6 in defeat.

IN THE BARRACKS

Mark Turner is tied for 14th in scoring with 25 points. Division leader, Florida, has three players ranked in the top six. The Everblades Brian McCullough is pacing the ECHL with 35 points after appearing in 22 games.

Daniel Berthiaume continues to play the role as Generals "ironman" by leading the ECHL with wins (14), minutes played (1232), and trailing Pensacola's Brian Eklund by only four saves for the ECHL lead. "Bert" has registered 598 saves.

Rookie Tom Reimann who netted the game-winning goal against the Dayton Bombers, is currently ninth in the ECHL among rookies with 16 points (seven goals, nine assists). Reimann has also netted five power-play goals, ranking him second in the ECHL for rookies.

Defensemen Geno Parrish and Kurt Drummond have been the constant stoppers for the Greensboro Generals all season. Geno is tied for second in the ECHL at his position, with 20 assists. Parrish (21 points) and Drummond (20 pts.) have them ranked fourth and fifth respectively, while Tom Reimann also ranks tied for ninth among defensemen.
