Omaha, NE - The Manchester Monarchs got two goals from Konstantin Pushkarev and 26 saves from goaltender Barry Brust to beat the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights 4-1 on Friday night at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. It was the Knights' first game against an Eastern Conference team.

Pushkarev pounced on a loose puck and stuffed it through traffic to give the Monarchs the 1-0 lead at 15:11. He tallied again on a powerplay in the final minute of the period to put Manchester up 2-0 after one.

The Knights trimmed the lead in half at 7:55 of the second period when Justin Taylor converted a feed from Mark Giordano for his ninth goal of the year.

The Monarchs stole the momentum away when Brad Smyth notched his 21st goal of the year less than five minutes later. Noah Clarke added a goal in the third period for the 4-1 final score.

The Knights are now 16-21-1-7. They have lost seven in a row. They return action next Wednesday when they visit the Cleveland Barons for a 6:05 p.m. face-off.
