Houston Aeros News Release
HOUSTON, Texas - The National Hockey League's Florida Panthers have recalled center Petr Taticek from the American Hockey League's Houston Aeros, the teams announced Friday. The Aeros have recalled defenseman Aaron Schneekloth from the Austin Ice Bats of the Central Hockey League. Schneekloth will wear No. 6 and is expected to be available for tonight's 7:35 p.m. game against the Rochester Americans.
Taticek, 22 (9/22/83), was acquired on loan from the Panthers on October 15. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound native of Rakovnik, Czech Republic, has posted career-bests in points (26), goals (nine) and assists (17) in just 34 games with the Aeros. He tied Houston's franchise record with a nine-game assist streak December 17-January 12. Florida selected Taticek in the first round (No. 9 overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Taticek has never appeared in an NHL game and spent the 2003-04 and 2004-05 seasons in San Antonio.
Schneekloth, 27 (7/15/78), notched 19 points (8-11=19) and 51 penalty minutes in 35 games with the Ice Bats. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound native of Calgary, Alta., has 58 games of AHL experience to his credit, all with Grand Rapids. He had seven points (1-6=7) and 14 penalty minutes with the Griffins from 2002-04. The Aeros signed Schneekloth as a free agent on September 20, 2005. He joins former University of North Dakota stars Curtis Murphy and Bryan Lundbohm on the Aeros' roster. Schneekloth was a member of the Fighting Sioux's 2000 NCAA Championship team, 2001 runner-up squad, and also the 1999 WCHA regular season championship team.
