McKee earns CCM Vector ECHL Rookie of the Month honors

Augusta, GA - The Augusta Lynx are proud to announce that goaltender Dave McKee has been chosen as the CCM Vector ECHL Rookie of the Month for January 2007.

Under contract to the Anaheim Ducks of the NHL, McKee posted an 8-0-0 record along with a 2.74 GAA and .911 save percentage as Augusta went 10-1-1 in January, climbing into fourth place in the South Division.

Hailing from Irving, Texas, McKee turned aside 35 shots in a 3-2 win over the Gwinnett Gladiators on January 4 and stopped 32 shots to down Texas 4-3 in a shootout Jan. 12. The 6-1, 187-pound backstop also beat Pensacola, Columbia, Trenton, Johnstown (twice), and Wheeling. McKee also earned a no decision against South Carolina in relief on Jan. 5.

Currently, the 23-year-old McKee sits tied for third in the ECHL with 19 wins, ranks fourth in shootout percentage at .826, and is fifth in total saves with 869.

The Lynx are back in action at home Friday and Saturday night against the Trenton Titans and Gwinnett Gladiators, with both games at 7:35 pm. Sunday Augusta heads to Gwinnett to wrap up a home-and-home series at 4 pm.
