Johnstown Chiefs News Release
Johnstown played a home-and-home series with north division rival Reading this week, sweeping the series with a come-from-behind, overtime win on Friday and then controlling play from the first shift of the game in a 4-1 win at home on Saturday.
Great Performances:
Dmitri Tarabrin scored the game winner at the 3:06 mark of overtime on Friday night, which was his second point of the game, after earlier assisting on Stanislav Lascek's power-play goal.
Jean Desrochers scored just nine seconds into the game on Saturday night, a Chiefs record for the fastest goal from the start of a game. The ECHL record for the fastest goal from the start of a game is held by Glenn Clark of the Louisville Ice Hawks, who scored just six seconds into the first period against Johnstown on March 11, 1994.
Brandon Elliott scored his team-leading third shorthand goal of the season to tie the game at two-apiece on Friday evening. Elliott is the only Chief to have scored shorthanded this season.
Morgan Cey made 34 of 35 saves to earn the win on Saturday night, while Gerald Coleman stopped 30-of-32 shots, including eight in the third period and overtime to earn the win on Friday.
The Chiefs have drawn in excess of 3,000 fans for four of their last seven home games.

Brandon Elliott sparked a come-from-behind effort for Johnstown, scoring shorthanded to tie the game at 5:02 of the third period. Dmitri Tarabrin broke down the right wing and fired a shot past Reading's Jeff Pietrasiak for the overtime winner. the Chiefs went 1-for-5 on the power play, and Gerald Coleman made 30 saves, earning the win.
February 3 vs. Reading (4-1 W)
Jean Desrochers scored just nine seconds into the game for Johnstown, as the Chiefs lead Reading from wire-to-wire. Andrew Martens contributed a power-play goal, while Brandon Elliott and Randy Rowe each scored even-strength goals for Johnstown as the Chiefs cruised to a 4-1 victory. Morgan Cey made 34 saves to earn the win, while the Chiefs were 1-for-4 on the man-advantage.

Chiefs Notes: The Chiefs were 2-for-9 on the power play this past weekend... Dmitri Tarabrin's goal on Friday was his first game-winner since rejoining the Chiefs... The Chiefs won won back-to-back games since December 30-31, 2006, when Johnstown won 7-1 at Wheeling on December 30 and then returned home to beat Toledo on December 31 by a score of 5-2, and won consecutive games against the same opponent for the first time since January 8-10, 2006, when they won at Dayton 5-3 on January 8 and 5-1 on January 10... Brandon Elliott has scored a goal in three of the Chiefs' last four games... Stanislav Lascek has six points (3g, 3a) in six games since returning from Springfield of the AHL.
