PENSACOLA, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots posted a record of 2-1-0-0 this past week in the ECHL, collecting a 3-2 overtime win over Florida, and a 3-1 victory over Charlotte but suffering a 6-2 loss to Columbia. The Ice Pilots head into this week's play with a record of 14-29-1-1 (30 pts - 8th in South Division).

DODGE ICE PILOTS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Forward John Hecimovic is the Dodge Ice Pilots Player-of-the-Week after notching two goals in three games and firing 11 shots. The Waterloo, Ontario Native scored the game winning goal in a 3-2 overtime victory over the Florida Everblades last Tuesday night. He picked up his second goal of the week on Friday night in a 6-2 loss to the Columbia Inferno. Hecimovic has 7 goals and 9 assists for 16 points in 17 games, since joining the Ice Pilots in late December.

WIRLL NAMED CCM TACKS/ECHL PLAYER OF THE MONTH: Forward Mike Wirll was named the CCM Tacks/ECHL Player of the Month for January. He had 14 goals and 3 assists for 17 points in the month. The Regina, Saskatchewan native scored in 11 out of 12 games and at one stretch had a 13-game scoring streak. He currently has 31 goals and 18 assists for 49 points.

ICE CHIPS: The Pensacola Ice Pilots have 12 victories this season when they have been out-shot by opponents, but two when they have the shots on goal edge.

With a 2-1 record last week, goaltender Michael Mole lowered his goals against average to 3.98 and also increased his save percentage to over 900.

Forward Travis Lisabeth made his return to the Ice Pilots line-up on Saturday night. His presence ignited the Ice Pilots in a 3-1 win over Charlotte. He notched an assist on the first goal of the game and had five shots.

TUESDAY, FEB. 6 VS. TEXAS WILDCATTERS - 7:05 PM THE HANGAR:

This is the eighth meeting of the season between the Pensacola Ice Pilots and the Texas Wildcatters. The Ice Pilots have earned two wins in the previous seven confrontations. Forward Dan Sullivan has three goals and three assists for six points versus the Wildcatters.

Promotions: It's two for Tuesday where fans can buy one regularly priced ticket and receive a second one free.

It's just the second trip to South Florida this season by the Pensacola Ice Pilots, but it will be the sixth and seventh meetings overall. The Ice Pilots split the two games the other time they were in Ft. Myers. Last week Pensacola beat the Everblades 3-2 in overtime at The Hangar.

ICE PILOTS REWIND:

PENSACOLA ICE PILOTS 3 - FLORIDA EVERBLADES 2 - OVERTIME

John Hecimovic netted the game winning goal 2:28 into overtime to lift the Ice Pilots past the Florida Everblades 3-2. The win extended the Ice Pilots winning streak to three games. The Ice Pilots built a 2-0 lead in the first 33 minutes of the game on power play goals by Dan Sullivan and Mike Wirll. The Everblades rallied with two to force overtime including the equalizer early in the third period.

COLUMBIA INFERNO 6 - PENSACOLA ICE PILOTS 2

The Ice Pilots saw their three-game winning streak halted by the Columbia Inferno on Friday night in a 6-2 loss at The Hangar in front of a crowd of 4,160. David Wrigley gave the Ice Pilots a 1-0 lead only to see the Inferno score the next five straight. John Hecimovic cut the deficit to 5-2 when he scored midway through the second period. The Inferno rounded out the scoring with a sixth goal early in the third.

PENSACOLA ICE PILOTS 3 - CHARLOTTE CHECKERS 1

Goaltender Michael Mole turned aside 33 of 34 shots and David Wrigley's goal in the first period stood up as the winner as the Ice Pilots beat the Charlotte Checkers 3-1. Mike Wirll netted his 31st of the year in the game, while Nikko Tuomi had the other goal. The Ice Pilots built an early 2-0 lead and never looked back.
