RoadRunners Receive James Hiebert From AHL Manchester

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, an affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes and the San Antonio Rampage, have announced that forward James Hiebert has been re-assigned to the club by the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League.

Hiebert, 24, has tallied 13 goals and 24 points, and has recorded 160 penalty minutes in 40 games this season with the Reading Royals, Manchester's ECHL affiliate. The Hay River, Northwest Territories native and fourth-year professional has also appeared in six games with the Monarchs totaling 16 penalty minutes. Hiebert signed a one-year contract with Manchester on Aug. 30, 2006 following a season in which he produced career-highs with 23 goals, 75 points, and 275 penalty minutes in 59 games for the Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League. He also helped the Bucks capture the 2006 President's Cup, Laredo's second CHL Championship in three seasons. Hiebert has recorded 70 goals, 130 assists, 200 points, and 879 penalty minutes in 224 career games.

In a separate transaction, the RoadRunners have traded center Brett Smith to the Royals in exchange for future considerations. Smith collected 16 goals and 29 points in 38 games with Phoenix.

Phoenix returns to US Airways Center at 7:11 p.m. Tuesday as they welcome the Stockton Thunder. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
